A substrobe for all seasons.
Ikelite Substrobes (underwater flash guns) cover almost every
eventuality. You can buy a Substrobe as part of a package, tailored
to suit your camera system; or you can put together or extend
your own system by buying individual system components. A comprehensive
range of sync cables, mounting arms, trays, and adapters covers
all of the requirements of the SLR, Digital Camera, or Nikonos
user, and allows mixing of equipment from different manufacturers.
Dual TTL flash systems can be built using either a Y-cable, or
by using an Ikelite TTL Slave sensor.
Putting together a flash system:
Choose a substrobe with the same or greater angle of coverage
as your widest lens. Choose an output level according to your
ISO-speed requirements. Unless the Substrobe is supplied as part
of a package, you will also require a sync cable suitable for
your camera or housing; and an arm and a camera tray. Ikelite
SLR housings come with a suitable tray; and a range of adapters
is available from Ikelite, Ultralight and TLC for other makes
of SLR housing.
If you require a flash system for a digital compact camera,
note that many housings do not have an electrical sync connector.
In such cases, an external strobe must be triggered from the
internal flash via a slave sensor. Most digital cameras also
use a pre-flash to determine exposure, and this will mis-trigger
a conventional slave system. The Ikelite DS-series strobes can
be used with the 4100.5 TTL slave sensor; and give full digital
camera compatibility by reproducing the pre-flash as well as
the main flash. |
