In addition to the original Ikelite 3/4"
(19.05mm) diameter tube-clamp system, Ikelite makes a range of
components for both 1" and 1.25" ball-joint arm systems.
The Ikelite ball features a PTFE (Teflon) impregnated hard anodisation
coating, giving a damage-resistant variable-friction articulated
joint with excellent holding-power.
 Ikelite SA-125
system; 1.25" (31.75mm) ball-joint system has the greatest
holding power in the industry. Easily holds 3Kg weight in air.
Ikelite SA-100
system; 1" (25.4mm) ball-joint system is ideal for smaller
strobes and lights (up to 1.5Kg weight in air) and can be intermixed
with components from Ultralight, TLC and metric (25mm and 27mm)
ball arm systems.
Adapter pieces
are available to allow mixing of 1" and 1.25" ball-arm
components: Double-ball extension 0466.51
has one 1" ball and one 1.25" ball.
Materials: Balls and clamp faces are precision machined aluminium
alloy with PTFE impregnated hard-anodisation. Arms are lightweight
anodised aluminium tubular construction. High-strength plastics
are used in some dimensionally non-critical sub-components (knobs,
strobe lugs, light holders). Large bolts are stainless steel.
Some smaller screws are Ni-plated brass. |
